Ajax Penumbra 1969 by Robin Sloan

This was a fun novella. I read Mr. Penumbra’s so long ago, but I could still enjoy this story. Listened to the story on the way to see family at a winery while Joy watched Paw Patrol with her headphones. Made for an enjoyable drive. Fast read/listen about uncovering a book from unexpected places.
I think my favorite part was how he describes being matched with his roommate using a fancy new algorithm. They didn’t get it at first, but they both “prioritized books” in packing. And then his roommate went on to be a computer programmer and found the algorithm. And guess what- it was completely random. I’m not sure how Macalester matched me with my roommate, but continues to be a match I am deeply grateful for.
