The Last
by Hanna Jameson
“The Last” is perfect for a cold, rainy day, when all you want to do is read an engrossing book. How Jameson manages to weave nuclear war, civilization’s unraveling, and an unsolved murder into an unpredictable and captivating novel is impressive. The characters ask hard questions about what it means to be human while navigating the unknown, and Jameson isn’t afraid to leave them unanswered and open for debate. So much of the story evokes an otherworldly state that the far-fetched ending works.
