To Cage a God (These Monstrous Gods, #1)
By Laura Nowlin
Dark fantasy, romantasy
My rating: ⭐️⭐️
To cage a god is divine. To be divine is to rule. To rule is to destroy.
Galina and Sera's mother has grafted gods into their bones, making them living weapons. It's up to them to end the cruel reign of the royal family.
Inspired by imperial Russia
❤️ I wish I had something good to say. I wanted to like this book. There were some parts that'd catch my interest, but they were few and far between.
💔 I wish I could place just what I didn't like about this book. The concept had me interested, and then.. I was just so bored. Nothing about it made me care. I put it down at one point and it took 5 weeks to pick it back up. I just kept wanting to DNF even through the end.
🎀 I got this in an Illumicrate box and it included a bonus chapter. This bonus chapter was probably my favorite chapter of the book. It gave me the feeling of potential, but even through the final 10 pages, I still could have put this down and never thought of it again.
