Moonlight in Winter Park by Samantha Chase

2.0

This was my first time reading Samantha Chase and if this is an indication of the author’s writing style I’m not sure I’ll read more. The only characters I liked were secondary: Norma and Mary. The main characters were nerve racking. Hope was judge mental and mean. Her thoughts about Mary made her come off as a mean girl and never changed. Why should we like a MC who constantly puts her soon to be sister in-law down at every chance? There is no justifiable reason for Hope’s disdain of Mary other than she can’t cook and doesn’t dress to Hope’s expectations? Beckett came off as unreasonable but by the end he was more likable than Hope. Who gives someone an ultimatum of if you leave to attend to your fiancée who’s been injured in an accident you’re fired? He’s a workhorse and expects everyone else to be one too. Personal life be damned. Fortunately for him he has an epiphany about how people view him and makes necessary changes. Hope’s brother Ted was just dumb. Seriously, who finds out his fiancée has been in an accident and chooses to keep working instead of being by her side? Ted should have told Beckett to shove it and left. We’ll in a way I guess he did when he stole his sisters car thereby abandoning her with Beckett. Then gets mad when she develops a relationship with the man. This whole story is just ridiculous and unrealistic.
