Full disclosure, I grew up on this series so my opinion is necessarily biased.

I'm of the view that there is no such thing as a bad Asterix book ... and this volume is pretty good.

As a child, I rarely borrowed this one from the library, which I attribute to the art being rougher than it is in later volumes. As an adult, this is still not my favourite. That said, the story in this volume is quite amusing.
