Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
4.0
Oh my gadget
2018 reread: Okay. THIS? 4.5+++. Because while this part is freaking amazing on many levels, on some it just doesn't feel so good, or as coherent as the first two (like action sequences). (Forgive me, I'm more of an introspective-shit kinda gal.)
But on the other levels - oh my gadget. The banter, the shenanigans, the bonding, the discoveries, the Gansey-learns-about-the-world realness. "Humans were so circular." Random truth beans? Aplenty. Plus at times it gets so Good-Omensy, it's spooktacular. Also, quirkiness off the charts? Yes. I love it.
This time, discovered that the whole Adam "i'm the third sleeper" Parrish bit had gone completely over my head. A TRAVESTY. This is such a great Adam!book. WHAT A GLORIOUS JOURNEY. (So TDT is Blue/Ronan, and BLLB is Blue/Adam. I'm not sure about TRB???? And TRK??????)
PS. That bit with Blue before and after (42). So, in TRB, Whelk dies before her eyes, and in TDT Kavinsky. Both deaths strike me as pretty resonant experiences. What got me wondering here is if this is actually the realest thing that she felt the change only with the death of someone close to her but not with others. Or if it's something else.
