This book was tricky because I didn’t find myself rooting for any of the characters by the time they really developed. I enjoyed the first 3/4 and didn’t love the last 1/4 of this book. I loved the way this book took on race. But I hated the way gender and sexism showed up, and I didn’t feel like there was enough commentary on that. Women and their needs were overshadowed by the men and their needs.
