What in the Titanic…

I love Beth O’Leary. She’s the author of possibly my favorite book of all time (The No-Show). This book missed the mark for me in so many ways.

At first, I loved the forced proximity. Lexi and Zeke were growing on me, though Lexi acting like 31 is matronly was not growing on me, never.
But when half the book felt like it focused on their very serious injuries, I knew it wasn’t going to be a book for me.
It reminded me of the Christina Lauren wilderness book — the title is escaping me but “we might die” is not a trope for me.

The “s*x while our boat is sinking and we are going to die” scene was giving STRONG Jack and Rose vibes. I hated it. 🤣🤷‍♀️ Then, throw in a kid he didn’t know about and a reeeeally rushed epilogue?
Pass, pass, pass.

Kudos for trying to do something different, I guess, but if you’re looking for a light and airy read, this is not it.
