No Exit
by Taylor Adams
What a fast-paced ride this is. If you are looking for a grisly locked room-ish thriller, this is the one for you. Darby is a college student just trying to get home to her sick mother when she accidentally stumbles upon a kidnapper at a rest stop during a blizzard. She doesn’t know who she can trust out of the four people who are stranded with her.
One of the main themes of this story is survival. Darby faces many challenges trying to figure out how to help the kidnapped child and keep herself safe. The action scenes are so well written in this story. I had an easy time picturing them. I could also feel the anxiety and the fear of the characters.
I’ll be honest, a few of the twists were predictable, but it is such a fun read I didn’t care. The ending was awesome, and the final twist was shocking. This is the perfect read for a snowy winter night.
