i found this one to have more adventure and just kept me more entertained than the first though i love them both. the 5 different povs was a bit intimidating but like the first one, i think its kind of necessary to get the full story so i don't mind. but omg i have never cried more at a book towards the end. one critique i have though is that sometimes the writing felt a bit repetitive but not enough to really bother me. i noticed that a lot of the same phrases were used very close together and the characters just repeated the same ideas over and over.. more specifically epiphany talking about her status as a princess and how that's all she was to people when people showed her that obviously wasn't true.. idk she got a tad bit annoying but again not enough for me to be mad at it.
when hyacinth died i genuinely thought that i couldn't go on with this series and had to stop at the second book, but the ending was so beautiful i couldn't handle it so i cried some more. also i literally thought right before reading his death scene "i get scared every time they play a game of discus because i know how the myth really goes...." but it was fine before so i wasn't exactly expecting it but i really should have.. fuck zephyrus!!
