I don’t particularly want to ‘rate’ the story as it feels weird to rate someone’s real life and experience. However in terms of the writing style it weren’t bad but didn’t captivate like I thought it would it was just a bit plain. The first 2 thirds of the book the time shifts took me out of the story she was telling and I was confused at what period of time we were in. There was one part where she started telling a story in college and then went back to when she was a young child she then added dialogue her mother had replied with and back to the college story and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out if the mothers dialogue part was in the current story she was telling or if it was in the childhood story. I felt at times the time shifts were a bit unnecessary and it would of just been better to tell them in chronological order.
