The Lovely Bones
by Alice Sebold
Grief. Moving on. Change.
This story was told in a unique way. I enjoyed having the different perspective and think the author did well creating this world under similar but different assumptions throughout the story.
It was a slow, steady pace throughout, which created a quick, easy read. I appreciated it's difference as a mystery novel and how it explored grief through a victims view.
However, the story did not captivate me as much as I was hoping. I read through it quickly, but it didn't provide anything for the reader to look forward to or keep the reader turning pages in anticipation. I think it had potential, just fell a little flat, personally.
Have you read it? What did you think?
