The Anxiety Skills Workbook by Stefan G. Hofmann is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in late January.
Alternating chapters on anxiety, then mindfulness, worry, then working through preset, addressable, concrete goals. Its hopeful, guiding tone makes this a simple and effective tool that a counselor or cognitive-behavioral therapist can hand to someone and have it be worked on in tandem with visits. In doing so, you recognize when and why anxiety goes too far, how it manifests physically and in one’s actions, monitoring yourself and acknowledging things as they surface and pass by, allowing yourself to feel relaxed and at ease, as well as confronting and challenging worrisome thoughts. I will definitely pick up a hard copy for myself.
