Vicar of Wakefield by Oliver Goldsmith
4.0
adventurous emotional funny hopeful informative inspiring lighthearted reflective medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Fun to read, but not brilliantly structured. Goldsmith wrote this before the idea of the "novel" was really popularised, but that being said I think it's still a great example of storytelling while keeping consistent the themes of optimism and piety through tragedy.
