While the setup for the ending was somewhat exciting, this book, and the trilogy as a whole, felt slow enough for me that by the time I reached the climax I just wanted the book to end, unfortunately.
I was also very surprised that, throughout the whole trilogy, there was little or no reference to the bounty hunter scene from The Empire Strikes Back, which I fully expected. Near the beginning of Hard Merchandise, there is a line that actually seems to ignore that the scene ever happened...
