Immortal Dark
by Tigest Girma
Kidans sister June goes missing leading Kidan to murder her way to finding the vampire she believes took her.
I thoroughly enjoyed this dark academia book, I thought it'd be quite juvenile given the Young Adult (12-18) label but this was obviously written as a New Adult book then edited slightly to be YA (no sex but a lot of gore/violence). Ethiopian mythology isnt something im familiar with so it was fun learning the myths about a topic I already enjoy (vampirism). I thought I'd struggle with the sheer amount of world building in the first half but it was fairly easy to understand and written well & I enjoyed all the characters but wish Iniko & Taj were showcased more. The enemies to lovers tension is written incredibly well though Im unsure why Kidan still wants to murder Sunseyos? This would make a really good movie adaptation and halfway through reading I preordered the next book.
