The Devil's Metal by Karina Halle
5.0

This was just plain old amazing! Omg, what a ride Karina Halle... This was crazy but not in the way I was expecting. The supernatural part of the story fit right in, it was hella creepy, but the 70's also added to the aura of weirdness. Crazy, enticing and engaging. Loved it. Borderline groupie journalist and an awesome metal band was a hell of a combo. I think the best part about the book was the natural relationship between Dawn and the band. It was just right. I would not call this book a romance.
Spoiler It doesn't focus on that part of the story for almost the whole book. It ends bitter, in all ways possible. I guess that's why I love it so much. The author didn't try to pin this unrealistic image that a rock star would have sex with a hot girl and fall deeply in love with her...I thought that was super cool!
Also, my biggest pet peeve: the slut shamming in this book was always made right by some character! Totally recommend this one, even if, like me, you are not a huge fan of supernatural books!
