Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese
3.0

“I know what I am. I’ve always known. I am one of the worse sort. A monster … But don’t you ever tell me how I feel.”
Willa was such an interesting female protagonist. She isn’t someone that you can like instantly.
(Don’t get immediately excited. Wait form my BUTS.) I liked her with her mother. That Willa was strong and always kept her guard up.
Ryder is the grumpy lumberjack type and I loved it. He just made my day. He was tough, strong, mean, and yet he manages to be the softie for his girl.
- The romance was excellent. For 21 years old people, I find it quite innocent but still like it.
- Both Ryder and Willa have misconceptions of one another and when they are thrown together for the assessment things heat up.
BUT
- Willa uses her anger as a mask without even caring how she affects and hurts people.
- Ever heard of COMMUNICATION, Willa? – No! Google IT.
- Willa created this melodrama in her head where she and Ryder are better off being ARCH-NEMESES and need to be at each other’s’ throats to survive. YET they were obsessed with each other.
- Why would you hate someone you find attractive, smart, funny and actually like spending time with.
- A lot is going on this book, glad I wasn’t the writer otherwise I would have gotten them together at 45% tops and then messed with that relationship and gave them hells so they know they should freaking stay together no matter WHAT.
- Ryder deserves better, and by better I mean he deserves the good hearted Willa that makes her mother laugh and reads to her to sleep. Not the moron that is living in ‘I must make your life miserable otherwise we won’t be fit together’ world.
Overall, I know you must hate be now for I have read so many reviews about this book but I don’t hate the book. I just hate how Willa acted. It is still a good romance with many ups and downs for both Ryder and Willa.
