Cam is a celebrity chef in Atlanta and Jade is his wife. The story starts out from Jade’s perspective mentioning a stalker and then Cam’s perspective discusses a fire that destroyed his most profitable restaurant. Their day does not get better when Jade and their two children are held for ransom at their home by a masked intruder.

This book was suspenseful but there wasn’t any sort of big shocking twist. I thought there would be something unexpected.

I think the Tanya reveal was supposed to be a twist but the fact that Baxter would have told her everything and the cops never showed made it pretty clear she was involved.

We also get a bit from the intruder’s perspective which is interesting. Although we end up finding out why he did it, his perspective doesn’t make me like him any more. The only decent one is Jade who isn’t perfect but isn’t malicious.
