This story was so cute! Tom was painfully oblivious, but honestly that made him a pretty realistic guy navigating the dating scene. He made a mistake and it took someone outside of the moment to knock some sense into him, and it was admirable he needed to make sure he apologized to his ex. I also liked that
he didn't go back with Finley and went to fulfill his apology. You could tell he was trying to say the right thing to Finley when he dropped her off, and I think it was cute he messed up. It showed he was working on it but he wasn't perfect. I also love that Finley recognized all the effort he had put in to making sure she knew he cared for her rather than ignoring it all because of one thing he said. They really are a cute couple.
I also loved the play on classic rom-com tropes. I thought that was a funny addition that made perfect sense with both characters love for movies. Otherwise the play on tropes would have felt forced for plot, but here it just made sense.

I didn't give this 5 stars only because I live for romantic tension, especially when two characters want each other but won't admit it. I felt like there wasn't really as much tension as I would have liked. While I wanted them to get together, I didn't feel their connection as strongly as I do in other stories. I also docked some points because while I really liked the mmc's voice acting, it sometimes felt really flat. There were times where Tom was feeling so much emotion, and I wasn't feeling it at all in the voice acting. When Tom was overwhelmed with emotion, the voice acting dampened most of it and I didn't seem like Tom was overwhelmed at all. Finley's narration was perfect though, massive props to Andi Arndt.

*Edit* I'm dropping this from a 4 to a 3.5, just because I barely remember anything from this story, even though I finished it only a couple days ago. I guess there wasn't really anything memorable about this story other than the fact the mmc was painfully oblivious when it came to dating at times. I still had a fun time listening to it though so I won't take away too many points there.
