The Last Olympian
by Rick Riordan
What a beautiful series :,) I feel the same way about Percy Jackson as I did finishing Twilight, I’m actually glad I waited until later to read them. I definitely would have still loved this series as a child and while I do wish I read them along side my friends in 7th grade, I can enjoy them just as much now if not even more.
On to the actual book! While this was a perfect ending, this was not my favorite of the series. I know that is not a popular view as my friend that recommended them, a die hard percy jackson fan, said this is the best book of the whole series. It was funny, it was heartbreaking, it did really keep my attention by the second half but it was not my favorite. I do love that it still managed to trick me like with who the spy was and what really would happen with Luke. I also love that it sets you up through percy’s inability to think cognitively at times and you know what the next move will be before he does (even though he spells it out for you).
Now I just have to reread these again every year for the rest of my life
