Blood and Chocolate
by Annette Curtis Klause
Blood and Chocolate is an excellent read. For once, it's a paranormal novel where the main character is fully aware of what she is, has been that way her whole life, and is proud and happy to be so. It's not a story of a human finding themselves entangled in a world of werewolves - it's about a werewolf getting mixed up with the world of humans.
The book wasn't totally what I expected, but it was very well-written and I liked the characters, too. Vivian interacts mostly with human teenagers, but it's not overbearingly high-school.
I'd definitely recommend the book. The language and sexual content might be a bit much for young/immature teenagers, but older ones will do just fine.
I'm going to watch the movie as well, although I've heard it's terrible.
