The Casual Vacancy
by J.K. Rowling
Rowling has several axes to grind about British class and society. She creates a book full of characters who are miserable or behave miserably, tosses in a sudden death and suicide. No party here. Too long, too many rants. It would have been better to tackle one at a time.
