The writing itself didn't always speak to me but as a former D1 runner, the experiences of performance and body pressure and lack of education around what women's running trajectory looks like hit dead-on. I had read a few of Fleshman's blogs over the years and it was enjoyable to gain more context on her experiences and reflect on my own. I still love running but have to maintain a very different relationship to it as an adult than I did as a young competitor in order to not lose that love. I appreciate her reflections on all the different ways to be a part of the running community outside of traditional high-level success.
