Every Crooked Nanny by Kathy Hogan Trocheck, Mary Kay Andrews

funny lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

4.25

Very interesting character. The words "former cop" in a description are usually enough to make me not read something and the new cover (bright yellow with a spilled purse, gag) made it look like some awful rom-com, but Callahan is a fun down to earth woman who owns a cleaning company and gets mixed up in far too many things. If she doesn't have connections in Atlanta, her mother does. They seem to know everybody. And that works great when they are trying to solve a crime for one of their cleaning clients. Very much enjoyed and grateful the love interest isn't a cop for once (a trope in cozy type mysteries that gets really annoying).
