The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
5.0

When you read this book, you find faults in those characters of Mahabharat whom you considered to be pure, sacrificial, and kind hearted. Gradually, however, you realize that's how life must go on. This book has a very different view of Mahabharat and you see everything from Panchali's eyes. It tells a beautiful story without making too many alterations in the popular version of the epic. Although, the original Mahabharat castes Hastinapur as the center of all the incidents, this book starts with Panchal where Panchali talks about her love for three very important characters in Mahabharata. Narration takes the credit.
