Once She Dreamed by Abbi Glines

I am a huge Abbi Glines fan, but this wasn't her best novel. It is much shorter than her average stories, and because of this I feel we don't get as much character development or plot build-up.
I loved reading about her family and her friends, but I didn't connect strongly with our main character Sammy. She has huge aspirations and is willing to do anything to get there, but she is too naive for my taste.
I'm hoping to see more character growth from the second part of this duology, because the writing and idea is solid!
