All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir

5.0

devastating and beautiful, this is one of those books where you can't move on after finishing it. you just... sit there, lost in thought. or at least, that's what i did.
i got this the moment it came to the library i work at (admittedly because the cover is pretty) but *wow* i was not disappointed.
i love tahir's voice. it's poetic without being too wordy, and packs a devastating punch when it needs to.
i love the way tahir weaves together multiple narratives without it seeming cluttered or hard to follow. i loved noor 's journey, especially her relationship with misbah, and sal's desperation is captured so vividly. i loved the relationship the two have, even though i think i would have preferred them staying best friends, but that's just because romantic subplots aren't my favorite. i feel like they clutter up in books that already have a ton of plot, but this one does work well and didn't detract from the main story too much.

quote that made my pen move:
"rage can fuel you. but grief gnaws at you slow, a termite nibbling at your soul until you're a whisper of what you used to be."

read it. it's gorgeous.
