I feel like this book called me out too hard for me to truly enjoy it. Like I was getting offended in the back of my head thinking "I already worked through this part!" before reminding myself "Hey, this book isn't Literally About You." But yeah, If I had read this back in 2018 maybe I wouldn't have had an actual mental breakdown about college applications while watching Bangtan Bombs. But I like how the story ended, with hope for the future and everyone gaining new perspective. I don't think I had exactly the same mindset as Angel, either. I never deluded myself into thinking a celebrity was the same as they presented themselves, because my fandom only extended to what they shared with me, and I never wanted them to know me back. That's one thing we did have in common- self hatred!
Maybe if I were a Taekook shipper I'd have felt differently.
