The Lover's Dictionary
by David Levithan
i honestly loved this book so much. i finished half of it on the train ride home from the city and the other half at like three in the morning when i was dead tired but i wanted to finish. i was hesitant to read it at first because i started every day and absolutely hated it and hated levithan's style, but the lover's dictionary is very different and at times it felt like i was reading poetry in prose form. i love everything, the non-linear story, the fact that you get just enough pieces to grasp the relationship without being overwhelmed with vignettes, the mix of funny/loving/angry/hurt, variations between long and short, the fact that some stories continue from previous ones with or without minor changes--it's just lovely. it really is.
