Having been never seen Dunham's show, I didn't really know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. If you're reading this for entertainment value, there are a few funny moments. As a memoir though, stick with it to the end and you'll find an impressive level of depth, self-awareness and commitment that's rare among young writers and that I found immensely satisfying. I know it's cliche to describe Dunham's creative voice as "real" and "honest," but it's cliche for a reason. RESPECT.
