Will by Will Smith, Mark Manson

5.0

I am blown away by this memoir! I’ve been a fan of his for a long time but didn’t know much about Will aside from his music and films.

Will takes us from childhood until now: his upbringing, his rise to fame, and his struggles are all on full display. This is not just an underdog to stardom story: this book is raw and vulnerable. Will does not shy away from anything. He tells his missteps openly, not being afraid to show himself in a poor light. It is unflinchingly honest and heartbreaking. It is also hysterically funny and thought provoking.

I HIGHLY recommend listening to this instead of reading it. Not only because Will’s narration is stellar (including accents and impressions!) but it also includes music and scene snippets that Will is discussing. If you like celebrity memoirs, move this to the top of your TBR.

IYKYK:  I agree with Jada, it wasn’t funny Will. 😂
