Incredibly imaginative work of its time, but a slow and over-descriptive read, 6.5/10.
The Martians are a really intriguing enemy, and, keeping in mind that flight hadn't even been invented when it was written, it is extremely forward with it's science. However, the style in which this book was written, makes it a slow and dense feeling read.
