This book is a great introduction to many issues currently affecting the transgender community. It can be hard to read as Shon does not hold back from the real truths and recent examples. Because it's all very relevant to today, it helps give cis people a better understanding of what we really need to be thinking about and acting on to help the transgender community instead of arguing over bathroom divides and what someone's genitals look like -- there are deeper problems that affect transgender people particularly more than other marginalised groups. And the first stop is educating yourself on it.
This book is for allies of the transgender community who want to start researching into problems they can be more aware of to help.
