Emily St. John Mandel is one of my favourite authors, though I've only read 3/6 of her books. I found Sea of Tranquility riveting and beautiful. I'm just in love with Mandel's writing. It have that nostalgic, dreamy feel to it. Either because of the post-apocalyptic setting or the sci-fi. I feel like I'm both in the present and future. This one felt at times similar to the feel of Station Eleven. Mandel broke the book into 'parts' where it focuses on what at first seemed like totally different times but then as usual slowly weaves all of them together. It left me pleased to recognize a moment from the earlier chapter, and then it all makes sense.
