I knew this would make me sad, I just didn’t know how sad.
From unaccepting, unrelenting mother figures to moving through the minefield of grief a lot of it hit some angry wounds. And at the same time it felt so incredibly intimate to bear witness to someone else's wounds that I’ll never fully understand (speaking as a white woman). Overall I think it’s beautifully told, even when difficult to work through.
Graphic: Terminal illness, Death of parent, Death, Grief, and Cancer
Moderate: Vomit
Minor: Racism and Alcoholism
