I was lucky enough to buy a copy of this book from Laurel herself at an event at the Stanley Hotel a few weeks ago. She's a wonderful person and it was great to meet her in person!
The following week, at the beach, I decided to read this book. As it turns out, reading this at the beach was quite an interesting choice on my part, given the book's setting!
This book packs all the punches, and starts out fast - I was immediately hooked. Despite sitting in the hot Florida sun, I truly *felt* the ice and snow that Addy experienced when she was trying to save Mads.
This is the kind of book where you kinda know where it's going the whole time, but you're still horrified thinking "don't do it, don't do it!" Honestly, it reminded me of watching horror movies when I was a kid - you know where it's going but you can't seem to tear your eyes away.
I highly recommend this bite-sized novella to all horror fans. Mothman anything is fun, but BELOW by Laurel Hightower is even better!
