I got about halfway through the book and I just couldn’t do it anymore. At first the plot was great, but midway through, it became so boring. I can generally get behind any FMC/MMC and their decision making (I’m not that picky and enjoy most stories)…but Elara was infuriating. Some of the decisions she was making were childish and not thought out at all. On top of that, the dialogue itself felt quite childish and poorly written. I can usually look past this, but it was pretty bad. I rarely DNF books, but I’m incredibly disappointed in this one. The first book was easily a 4.5/5 star read for me.
