silver_valkyrie_reads 's review for:
The Borrowers
by Mary Norton
This was one of of my favorites in childhood and I can only guess how many times I actually read it. It help up pretty well on re-reading in adulthood too--I should probably plan to re-read the rest of series at some point. Recommended for anyone who likes looking at the world a little sideways and wondering 'what if...?'
The possible content issues here are very minimal, and only concerns for the very youngest readers: Arrietty keeps secrets from her parents, to the point of outright lying a couple of times. Drinking alcohol is mentioned several times, with excessive drinking implied. The end with it's life and death situation could be stressful for sensitive young readers.
