The Lost World: the sequel to Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, Michael Crichton

3.0

Rating: 2.5 stars

I don't have much to say about this book. It is the sequel to Jurassic Park (obviously), but it doesn't quite match its predecessor in quality, and, to be frank, in effort. It feels a little... well, it feels like the publisher was asking for a follow up to Jurassic Park (which works fine as a stand alone) so Crichton drew this half-arsed idea out of a hat and pulled The Lost World together. Don't get me wrong, it's still good. The Lost World still has that infamous Michael Crichton rice-cracker-dry prose, chock a block full of science-y info dumps, and a whole heap of grisly deaths to top it off. It just felt a little forced and unnecessary.
