Quite a fascinating story unlike any I have ever really read before.
Santiago, son of Magos and Joesph is born with one lung and they know he won’t live a full life. At the age of 11, Santiago dies and Magos cuts a piece of Santiogo’s lung and feeds it, ultimately becoming Monstrilio.
There was more gruesome horror than I anticipated and I thought there would be more focus on grief than there actually was. Overall, the hidden messages of self reflection and belonging are evident
