The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon

An incredibly moving, heartbreaking and honest book that follows a midwife in the 1700's. This is a time period I haven't really read many books set in, but I absolutely loved it. It did cover a lot of topics and definitely makes you angry and think about our history. The MC will probably be one of my favourite of the year.

This book was based on a true story, based on a midwife, and the author's note was incredible to listen to. I'd highly recommend spending some time reading into the true pieces behind this book!
