The horror elements in this book are great. However, the story becomes kind of repetitive and the ending is very anticlimactic. There are loose ends in the book and the main character states that he is ok never knowing what happened, so we never find out either. The portrayal of Native American characters is a racist trope that we see in almost every horror movie.
If these characters hadn’t been killed off I would’ve rated the book higher
