Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

i expected more detailed descriptions of raw romance since I understood this to be a book about courtship (it was published in 1813 so my hopes shouldn't have been as high i guess.....) 2/3 of the book is everything BUT Darcy and Liz

even so, with every next chapter i felt more attached to the characters. there wasn't much world building per se, but i think the multi-page letters made the book feel alive. besides, i found darcy's psyche very interesting and relatable to reality.

the last few chapters were incredibly funny. it's just a very pretty romance with intellectual stimulation included.
