On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden

This book is fantastic. Everything about it is just amazing. The characters were all so unique and special, and I love the universe it’s set in. And the art?? I can’t even- the use of colors and the beautiful otherworldly landscapes immediately caught my attention. I could look at most of the pages in this book for hours. Very pretty. I wouldn’t hesitate to read it again.
The story was really good. I liked how it all tied in and even the smallest of details was there.
Also can we talk about the universe/social norms and stuff? I don’t remember a single guy being on this book, but then again I don’t remember anything. And it’s like being wlw is what everyone expects or something?? (Not like I saw any other people for them to like.)They’re all girls (most of the people we saw anyway) with the exception of Elliot.
(By the way I really liked them. They got a lot of story revealed throughout the book and I think their character is really interesting. I love how literally everyone besides that one lady (Jo?) respected and used Ell’s correct pronouns, no matter what. “Oh yeah I hate Elliot and they deserve to die but they also deserve to be referred to correctly” - as it should be. Thanks for that.)
Anyway, this is an awesome story with truly beautiful artwork and everyone needs to read it.
