Reading the book description, it would not be something I would pick. Military stories are just not what I'm into. But then again... I needed some more romance after the dark fantasy I'd been reading. So when this popped on Amazon's First Reads for the month I said, "Why not?"
I'M SO GLAD I READ IT! The characters are so well written that the first conversation between the two MCs had me HOOKED. I was rooting for basically everyone in this book (minus dickface and the parents).
This book had me on the edge of my seat several times! The way the conflicts and action chapters were written, I could not put the book down! And the twist at the end????? I started sobbing! I didn't believe it and had to reread a few pages to make sure I understood what was being said.
UGH I LOVE THIS BOOK! I read this book in two days (usually takes me a week for one book), and I would've finished it in one if I hadn't had other commitments and work.
