This was so adorable and sweet. Chris and Trixie are the epitome of friends-to-lovers. Trixie is a plus size vegan librarian just trying to give her chickens the best life possible (I can relate as a vegetarian librarian trying to give her dogs the best life possible). Chris is a star quarterback sweetheart who is just so in love with his best friend, but never wants to cross her boundaries or make her feel uncomfortable.

This is the first book in this series, but I did start on book two. And as of right now, Chris is my favorite Kingman brother (sorry Declan!). I'm really enjoying them - I immediately borrowed book 3 on hoopla as soon as book 1 ended. They're sweet and adorable with no ridiculous third act break up (as of now). Everyone communicates easily and falls in love. I love, well, love! I extra love when a man falls first and just shows his girl how much he loves and respects her.

Usually, I am a dark romance, horror, literary book kinda gal, but The Cocky Kingman series has me hooked and I can't get enough of these funny, cheesy romances. And, Luke (the chicken) didn't annoy me in the way that most animals in books do. I know this whole series there is always an animal involved, so maybe this is growth and I'm making peace with it.
