Q: What would you do when you find the man you love but can’t tell him?

At the age of 8, Darcy Barrett found her dream man but since then has always had to settle for good enough. No one will ever measure up to Tom Valeska, her twin brothers best friend. When Darcy and Jamie inherit their grandmothers cottage they are left with strict instructions to bring it back to its former glory. Darcy plans to leave when renovations begin (like she usually does) but a familiar face shows up on the doorstep waiting to start renovations and he’s single for the first time in a second. And for once Darcy feels like sticking around.

So I had high hopes for this book because I loved The Hating Game so much, however this did not live up to the standards that I had. I really wanted to love this book but I just didn’t. I loved certain aspects of it - brother best friend, friends to lovers and the big crisis that always happens in romance books. However, I wasn’t a fan of Jamie (Darcy’s brother) who played a major role in the book. He’s kinda like the Charles Boyle from Brooklyn 99 character. He just really annoyed me. Darcy and Tom were amazing and I did like them as characters but I just didn’t connect as much as Lucy and Josh. I also wish there was more to do with her heart condition. I did read this in a fairly short time and gave it 4 stars.
