Everybody Lies: Big Data, New Data, and What the Internet Can Tell Us about Who We Really Are
by Seth Stephens-Davidowitz
Interesting book. There were many shocking facts, but many facts that are just common sense. I remain skeptical about big data as far as Google searches go. There are multiple explanations, I think, for many of the topics touched upon. I'm certainly glad I read this book and I think it opened my eyes to many things I may have been unaware of before, but I still think big data is not an exact science or as straightforward as some of the conclusions the author came to would have us believe. I did appreciate Stephens-Davidowitz's humor, wit, and brutal honesty about others and himself. It is a quick, interesting read, definitely.
