Having just come off of Nothing to See Here, which I absolutely loved, this maybe did not have as much of an impact as it would have had on its own. I really enjoyed this book, but it definitely does not have as much of the dry wit and heart as Nothing.
It did, in a weird way, remind me of Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer, which was kind of awesome. I want these books to live in the same universe and “The edge is a shantytown” to show up in Area X.
